Ram Gopal extends olive branch to KJo

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has extended a hand of friendship towards Karan Johar by inviting him to watch his upcoming movie The Attacks of 26/11. He will arrange a special screening for Karan here soon.

‘Karan Johar is one of the prominent filmmakers in the industry. Besides, he is also a good friend and I know him very well. This film has been a satisfying experience for me after a long time, so I wanted to show it to some of my friends,’ Varma told.

Both the filmmakers have often engaged in a war of words with each other on Twitter, and it is on the social networking platform itself that RGV invited KJo for the movie, which is based on the Mumbai terror attacks in 2008.

‘Hey Karan I never ever invited you to see any of my films, but The Attacks of 26/11 is one film I would really like you to see,’ Varma wrote to Karan on Twitter.

Varma says he would hold the screening this weekend. Over the years, both of them have passed snide remarks over each other’s style of filmmaking, but clarifying his stance, Varma said: ‘I have never had any problem with Karan. It is the media who have written about all these things. Yes, I might have in a funny way commented, but it was not intended other way.’ The Attacks of 26/11, co-produced by Alumbra Entertainment and Eros International, features Nana Patekar and Sanjeev Jaiswal in key roles. The film is slated for 1 March release.
