Raju holds meet on airports' safety

Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati held a meeting on Friday morning to discuss Thursday’s incident in which a Spicejet Boeing 737-800 aircraft hit a buffalo during its takeoff run at Surat Airport. The civil aviation secretary, DGCA chairman, AAI chairman, member (ANS) and member (operations) were present on the occasion.

The minister ordered an inquiry to be conducted by AAI, along with the DGCA investigation, to ensure that no such incident occurs at Surat or any other airport in future.
