Rajnath to release poll manifesto

The BJP will release on Tuesday its manifesto for the Rajasthan assembly elections, which are less than two weeks away. It will be released by national president Rajnath Singh and Rajasthan unit chief Vasundhara Raje, a party spokesperson said. Poll manifesto committee chairman Gulabchand Kataria, state in-charge Kaptan Singh Solanki, national secretary Bhupendra Yadav and other senior leaders will also be present on the occasion, he added.

Churu election schedule changed


New Delhi: Election Commission has revised the election schedule for Churu assembly constituency in Rajasthan where polling will now be held on 13 December following the death of a candidate. Rajasthan goes to polls on 1 December to elect its 200-member state assembly and results will be out on 8 December.BSP nominee for Churu seat, Jagdish, died on 16 November forcing the EC to alter the poll schedule there. After giving a notice to BSP, asking it to renominate its candidate for the seat, the EC said the last date for filing of nominations for the new BSP nominee would be 26 November.

EC asks mobile phone operators to maintain smooth network

Jaipur:
The Election Commission has directed cellular service operators to maintain proper network coverage on 1 December, the day of polling in Rajasthan. Rajasthan Chief Electoral Officer Ashok Jain and other senior officials today held a meeting with the representatives of mobile service operators to review the arrangements. ‘Operators were asked to keep mobile network proper to ensure that all the polling booths across the state are under the coverage of their network area,’ according to a release here.
