Rajnath Singh calls for all-party delegation to Kashmir meet today

The delegation led by the Singh will take stock of the improving situation in the valley in the backdrop of the efforts of the Centre to bring normalcy back. DG, CRPF reviewed the security situation in south Kashmir on Thursday, ahead of the visit. Meanwhile, on Friday in a major success for the J&K Police and security forces, two Hizbul terrorists were apprehended in joint operation. A huge cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from them. 

The delegation includes Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, MoS PMO Jitender Singh, Leader of Opposition of Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, Leader of Congress party in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Ambika Soni, Union Minister for Consumer Affairs and LJP supremo Ram Vilas Paswan, senior JDU leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sharad Yadav, senior CPI (M) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sitaram Yechuri, senior CPI leader and Rajya Sabha MP D Raja, senior NCP leader and Lok Sabha MP Tariq Anwar, TMC Lok Sabha MP Saugata Roy, senior Shiv Sena leaders Sanjay Raut and Anandrao Vithoba Adsul, TDP leader Thota Narasimham, SAD leader PS Chandumajra, BJD Rajya Sabha MP Dilip Tirkey, Power       Minister of Telangana and senior TRS leader Guntakandla Jagadish Reddy, senior RSP leader and Lok Sabha MP N.K Premachandran , AIADMK Lok Sabha MP , DMK leader T Siva, YSR leader Y B Subba, RJD Lok Sabha MP Jay Prakash Narayan Yadav , AAP leader DV Gandhi, and RLD Lok Sabha MP Dushyant Chautala.

Reportedly, this time MIM supremo and one of the major critics of BJP led NDA government at the center and Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi and another prominent minority face and leader of Muslim League E Ahamed’s names have emerged as the part of the delegation. Home Minister led all party delegation will visit Srinagar on September 4. During  Kashmir visit the delegation, accompanied by Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi and Senior Officers of MHA, will be meeting the State Governor NN Vohra, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and about ten Civil Society delegations before returning. The delegation also will be meeting other political stakeholders also. 

A delegation of the state’s ruling major ally, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by party General Secretary Mohd. Sartaj Madni and Bharatiya Janata Party delegation led by J&K State President Sat Sharma will be meeting the Home Minister. Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah led delegation of the state’s main opposition J&K National Conference, Congress delegation led by GA Mir will also meet Singh on September 4.
