Rajinikanth’s next titled Kabali

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film, which will be directed by Pa Ranjith, has been named <g data-gr-id="16">Kabali</g>. Ranjith, who will also write the movie, tweeted <g data-gr-id="17">Kabali</g>... <g data-gr-id="18">magizhchi</g>, indicating the official title.
It will be produced by Kalaipuli S Dhanu. Bollywood actor Radhika Apte is expected to star opposite <g data-gr-id="19">Rajinikanth,</g> while actor Prakash Raj is likely to play an important role.

Social media is abuzz that the 64-year-old superstar would play the role of a don as the name <g data-gr-id="23">Kabali</g> in Tamil film history is traditionally associated with <g data-gr-id="24">dons</g>. Several <g data-gr-id="26">dons</g> and their associates in Tamil movies were named <g data-gr-id="25">Kabali</g> in the past. <g data-gr-id="27">Kabali</g> is the popular short name of Kabalishwara in Tamil Nadu, the presiding deity of the ancient temple in Mylapore of Lord Shiva here. The movie will be filmed in various locations, including Chennai and Malaysia.
