Rajasthani youth found dead in guest house

Mystery shrouds the death of a Rajasthani youth whose body was found inside a guest house at Jadavpur on Tuesday morning. Police said that the victim, Sagar Somani (24) came to the city from Rajasthan few years ago and picked up the profession of driving. He came to a guest house at Jadavpur area on July 30 and rented a room. 

The staff members of the guest house on Tuesday informed the police after the youth did not open the door despite repeated knocks. The staff members found that the door was locked from inside and they hadn’t seen the youth step out of his room for the last two days. 

After being informed the police reached the spot and broke open the door only to find that the youth was hanging from the ceiling. Police found some injuries on his hands. According to the preliminary investigation police suspect that the victim might have committed suicide. Police came to know during the interrogation that the youth had developed multiple affairs with some women. The investigating officers are yet to ascertain the reason behind suicide.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the he was mentally troubled after the relationships went wrong. Though the staff members of the guest house told the police that the victim’s behavior was normal when he came to rent a room, but they did not see the youth for the last two days. Initially they thought he might have come out of the room that had gone unnoticed. But as the youth did not respond despite of repeated knocks on the door they suspected that something must have happened to him and called the local police station.

Police came to know that the victim came from Rajasthan few years ago to work as a driver. Police also come to know that one of the victim’s relatives has been staying here in the city for quite a long time. Police are interrogating his relative in this connection.
