Rain triggers cold, more to come today

Scattered rainfall and an overcast sky on Thursday evening added to the chill in Delhi. The Met Office forecast more showers ahead and a cloudy day on Friday.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said that ‘There is a western disturbance that lay over north Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday due to which there is light rain in Delhi and other northern states. The few spells of rain or thundershowers will continue till night.’

According to the IMD, traces of rainfall were recorded in the capital.

‘There were traces of rainfall, which was non-measurable since Thursday evening,’ stated the IMD official.

The maximum temperature on Thursday hovered around 28.3 degrees Celsius, three notches above average, and the minimum was around 9.3 degrees Celsius, a notch below average for this time of the season. The humidity ranged between a maximum of 92 per cent and a minimum of 34 per cent.

Adding further the official says that ‘Skies will be cloudy on Friday and the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 25 and 10 degrees Celsius.’

With mercury dropping and chilly weather seeping in, the smiles and giggles of toddlers get replaced by running red nose and sneezes. The virus of cough, cold and flu affect each one of us, may it be a toddler or young adult. But the inexperienced mothers need  not worry as doctors suggest proper hygiene and healthy diet help in maintaining the immune system strong.
