Rain relief from heat likely in capital this week

The weatherman has predicted light to moderate rainfall for the national capital this week and a drop in temperatures by three degree Celsius by the weekend.

'The city is likely to receive moderate rainfall of around three to four cm on Friday and Saturday,' said a senior officer of Regional Meteorological Centre, New Delhi.

He added that the temperature will also decrease gradually and may go down by three degree Celsius on Sunday.
On Monday, the maximum temperature recorded in the city was 39.2 degree Celsius which was three points above normal.

'The temperature on Monday was the hottest for the week, but temperatures are expected to go down gradually,' he said.
The minimum temperature on Monday was recorded at 27.8 degree Celsius which was normal.

According to weatherman, the maximum humidity on Monday was 79 per cent, while the minimum was recorded at 42 per cent.
The weatherman has predicted cloudy skies with light rains in some areas on Tuesday.

'Light rain may also occur on Wednesday and Thursday in some parts of Delhi and NCR,' he added.
However, the weather in Uttharkhand has been predicted to be 'vigorous' on Friday and
there is possibility of heavy rainfall on Saturday.
