Rahul’s detention: Police will do whatever necessary, says Rajnath
“I don't have anything to say, police will do what it has to for risk reduction,” the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Wednesday when he was asked about opposition leaders’ detention by Delhi Police.
Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia were detained at RML Hospital here when they protested and tried to meet relatives of an army veteran who allegedly committed suicide over OROP. By stating “Whatever has to be done for risk reduction, the Delhi Police will do,” Singh defended police.
The opposition parties vented anger over the police as the detention of the family members Ram Kishan Grewal, an ex- serviceman, who committed suicide on Tuesday. The reaction came from the Home Minister as the Delhi Police comes under Home Ministry.
