Rahul Gandhi granted relief in criminal defamation case

It’s was round two of Rahul Gandhi vs RSS in a courtroom.  Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi appeared before a local court in Guwahati, Assam on Thursday in connection with a defamation case filed by a RSS volunteers.

Coming out of judicial complex, Gandhi scion said, ’I am against the ideology of RSS and the ideology of all such organizations that try to divide India’

Apart from political war, legal battle is also on between RSS, parent organisation of BJP, and Congress Vice President. There is another defamation case filed by RSS volunteer against Gandhi in a local Maharashtra court. 

“These cases have been put against me because I am fighting for the rights of the farmers, poor, unemployed youth, Oppressed and suppressed people of our country.

The more cases they (RSS) slam against me, the more i’ll fight for poor, unemployed, youth, farmers of the country.

I am not scared of such cases,” said Gandhi to media persons outside the court complex.

Surrounded by his supporters and senior leaders from Assam Congress outside court complex, Gandhi reiterated that he’ll fight the divisive forces. “I will not be deterred by such cases. I will continue to fight for the unity of the country and for the poor of the country,” he added.

During Assam assembly elections in December last year, 46-year-old Amethi MP was campaigning in Barpeta, which is 76 kms away from Guwahati. He visited Barpeta Satra monastery. However, later it was alleged by Gandhi that RSS people, specially women, had tired to stop him from entering the temple. 

RSS denied these allegations and one of its volunteer filed a defamation case in Guwahati’s local court.
