Rahul Gandhi ‘awaits achhe din’

Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his ‘achhe din’ slogan, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday wondered when such good days will come and questioned why he never talks about empowerment of women and farmers.

“It has been seven/eight months since formation of the (NDA) government. When will the good days come?” Rahul asked while addressing election meetings at Shikaripara and Godda.

“Good days have come only for four/five businessmen, who are Modi’s friends,” he alleged and accused the Centre of intending to do away with MGNREGA that guarantees 100 days of employment per year to the poor. “Congress wants to give power to all and go along with all. But Modi never says that people can unitedly change the future of India. He doesn’t talk about empowerment of women and farmers,” the Congress leader said. He reiterated his allegation that the BJP was out to snatch tribal lands if voted to power in Jharkhand, though Modi had described the allegation as a “lie”.
