Rahul caravan reaches B’khand, attacks SP govt

The Amethi MP was reacting on the requests posed to him by the farmers, who raised the issue of plight of abandoned cows and buffaloes, during his Khat Sabha. The farmers from drought affected Bundelkhand region requested Gandhi to do something for bovine.

“BJP not bothered about cows. Cows are dying on roads. If BJP was serious they would have already done something about it. They will do anything to come to power,” said Congress scion.

On Day nine, Congress Vice President’s 2,500 km long Kisan Yatra reached Chitrakoot to Banda in Bundelkhand region.  The farmers of Bundelkhand are worst hit in the state and earlier this year Gandhi had also done a pad yatra in this region to draw attention of UP as well as the central government.

The farmers requested Congress Vice President to raise the matter of farm loan waiver so that they get some relief. It was during Congress regime that Bundelkhand was given a special package in 2008-2009.  During Khat Sabha and meeting points, 46-year-old Congress Vice President took a dig at union transport minister Nitin Gadkari.

“BJP’s slogan was Ache Din, Gadkari ji says now this has become thorn in the skin,” he said.

Congress vice president also took a dig at the ongoing feud in the first family of Samajwadi Party and UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. The Amethi MP, who is on a Kisan Yatra in the poll bound state said, “Akilesh is a young leader. People of Uttar Pradesh had imposed faith in him but it is a sad that he let them down.”
