Rahman Khan for transparent system for management of Wakf properties

Minority affairs minister K Rahman Khan today made a strong pitch for a transparent and comprehensive system for efficient management of Wakf properties and funds in the country. Khan, who also chairs the Central Wakf Council (CWC), said protection and efficient management of such properties is not only an obligation but an opportunity to serve masses. Addressing a meeting of state Wakf boards here, he urged them to expedite implementation of important provisions of Wakf Act, 1995.

Highlighting the vast potential of Wakf land available across the country, he stressed the need for developing these properties on commercial lines to drive higher income for the welfare of the community.
