The ongoing Indo-Pak tension has hit Delhi’s event industry, with all scheduled gigs of Pakistani artists being cancelled. The latest cancellations are by Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, who were supposed to perform at two weddings in Delhi this month.
Talking about the cancellations, Rajiv Jain, vice -president, EEMA, said: “It is a stand taken by the event
managers’ association that no artist from Pakistan will perform in India.”
About the last minute cancellation of the wedding performances, an event manager said: “The families had chosen the artists before the ties between the two countries turned sour. It is not that the government has stopped giving visas to the artists, their entry is not banned, but we are not scheduling any performances with them because we want to support our country.”
