Quake leaves scribes rattled at Eden press box

With tremors of the massive earthquake in Myanmar being felt in the city, journalists covering the IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians at Eden Gardens press box were literally rattled. Even as the players and a turnout of 30,000 seemed oblivious to the tremors amid loud music, it was the press box located at the fourth level supported by some pillars and cantilevers that shook for about four seconds. With the memory of the March 31 flyover collapse in the city (that killed 26 people) still fresh in the minds of everyone, more than 50-odd scribes made a beeline for the exit as the whole structure started trembling, giving the buzzing press box a deserted look.
