Puthia conducts surprise checks at New Delhi, Anand Vihar stations

A K Puthia General Manager, Northern Railway conducted a surprise inspection at the New Delhi Railway Station and Anand Vihar Mega Terminal Railway Station on Thursday morning to observe and ensure the special arrangements being made for smooth, hassle-free and convenient journey for the enhanced number of passengers during the on-going festival season.

For efficient crowd management a holding area has been prepared at Ajmeri Gate side of New Delhi Railway Station where shamianas have been erected to create extended waiting area for the convenience of passengers. LED screens have been placed at New Delhi Railway Station for information and entertainment. Five additional counters have been opened in holding areas also where tickets for East-bound and other trains are available. Similarly, arrangements for drinking water and beverages have been ensured. 

He also conducted a surprise inspection of Anand Vihar Mega Terminal. Similar arrangements viz. Holding Areas with Shamianas, LED Display Screens, Addl. Booking Counters, Public Address System, Water Tankers & Mobile Toilets have been provided. Here two new island platforms have recently been made functional. With the opening of 2 new Island platform the total number of platforms will become seven for docking the trains.
