Pump it up
Delhi is hosting a three-day music festival titled The South Asian Bands Festival, where 14 rock bands from across nine nations of the sub-continent will perform.
Now in its seventh edition this music festival is presented by Ministry of External Affairs, Indian Council for Cultural Relations and SEHER.
The participating bands are Barefaced Liar (Delhi), LRB (Bangladesh), ZnG (Bhutan), Circus (Delhi), Biuret (Korea), Stigmata (Sri Lanka), Eman’s Conspiracy (Maldives), Papon And The East Indian Company (Mumbai), Strings (Pakistan), What’s In The Name (Mumbai), Pardis (Afghanistan), Susmit Sen Chronicles (Delhi), Albatross (Nepal) and The Raghu Dixit Project (Bengaluru).
Coming together of some of the most talented musicians on one platform at the magnificent Purana Qila is the best and truest representation of regional integration through Culture. The key feature this year, however, is the participation of two bands one is Korean band Biuret- a winner at Sutasi, Asian American Idol program.
‘The South Asian Bands Festival has become one of Delhi’s most eagerly awaited cultural extravaganzas over the years. People of all ages look forward to the best bands from the South Asian region to be showcased at the festival,' said Seema Dahiya, project manager. Mark in the dates.
