PSU Coal India Ltd powers 11-month output by 9.2%

Coal India Limited (CIL) continued its steady hold on coal production as the company registered 9.2% growth in coal output at 477.31 mt ending February 2016 on a year-on-year comparison.
Eleven months into the fiscal 2015-16 the company, that spearheads the country’s coal production, had in absolute terms registered a volume increase of 40.35 million tonnes so far which is around 8.5 mt more than what CIL achieved during the entire fiscal 2014-15.
CIL also surged ahead in its coal supplies by moving 483.14 mt of coal to its customers during the period April-February 2016 registering a growth of 9.3% on a like to like comparison. Coal supplies increased by 41.30 mt ending February 2016 in absolute terms. Rake loading also clocked a growth of 9.6%, as CIL a whole loaded, on an average, 210.9 rakes/day during April-February 2016 against the average of 192.5 rakes/day same period last year.
