PSPCL excels at national quality concepts conclave

Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL) Chairman  & Managing Director K D Chaudhri said on Wednesday that PSPCL has achieved another landmark by grabbing three excellence and two distinguished ranks in the National Convention on Quality Concepts (NCQC-2014) held in Pune recently. Chaudhri congratulated the members of these five quality circles for their diligent groundwork and fine performance at the convention.

He noted that a total of 1,211 quality circles from 211 organisations from all over India participated in the event, out of which nine were PSUs, 192 were private limited companies, eight were government organisations and only two, ie MSPGCL and PSPCL were state government power sector utilities. The efforts and performance of PSPCL’s teams were highly appreciated both by the judges and organisers at the convention.

With this feat, PSPCL has established itself at par with those organisations that have been participating at this platform for more than 10 years. Chaudhri appreciated the efforts of the officers involved for their guidance and support to the teams.

He specifically appreciated the role played by the Organisational Development & Management Development (ODMD) cell, which has been specially established in the HRD wing for implementing various modern management concepts like Quality Circles, 5S (Workplace Management Tool), Six Sigma and Competency Mapping.

Chaudhri appealed to all PSPCL employees to volunteer for forming more quality circles at their respective work places.
