PSG prez says Blanc will remain coach next term
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) Laurent Blanc will remain head coach during the next football season, club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has said.
Former Chelsea chief coach Jose Mourinho had been linked with the role despite PSG having already wrapped up a fourth successive Ligue 1 title.
PSG were knocked out at the quarter-final stage of the Champions League for the fourth time in a row and Blanc came under fire for his side’s performances against Manchester City.
But after watching his side claim the Coupe de la Ligue trophy on Saturday with a 2-1 win over Lille in Paris, keeping them on course for a domestic treble, Al-Khelaifi said he expects the Frenchman to see out the two-year contract extension he signed in February.
The contract was extended for two years, he will stay with us next year,” Al-Khelaifi was quoted as saying by goal.com on Sunday.
