Prostitution racket busted, Uzbek girls held

Delhi Police on Wednesday claimed to have smashed a high profile call girl racket with the arrest of six young women from Uzbekistan, in the Capital.

The racket was being run from a rented accommodation in Chhatarpur Farms in South Delhi, Sanjay Kumar Jain, deputy commissioner of police (Crime), said.

Six women, including a woman pimp, were arrested on Tuesday. The pimp has been staying in India since 2009. She facilitated the stay of her other colleagues in Delhi on tourist visas.

'She even got one girl married to an Indian national to enable her to get multiple entry visa on marital grounds. According to her, there is a great demand for women from the erstwhile Soviet Union in the NCR region,' Jain said.

All arrested persons are in the age group of 27-33 years.

The arrests came following a tip off that an international call girl racket was being run in south Delhi.

'Working on the above information, a deal was struck through an Indian pimp and decoy customer and all of them were arrested,' Jain said.

The pimp used to allegedly pay a monthly rent of Rs 14,000. Some girls used live with her in this house while for some others she had arranged an accommodation in Vasant Vihar, he added.

'She arranges for their transport and accommodation in the city. She arranged for the clients to meet the girls and also fixed the price per girl according to the perceived paying capacity of the client. She charged between Rs 20,000-25,000 per girl for a single night.

'The charges increased to even Rs 1 lakh for other services including belly dancing, weekend parties and travel companions to various destinations such as Shimla, Jaipur and Goa. The customers were entertained only after they provided reference from a trusted client,' Jain said.

'The Indian pimp has been identified. He is absconding,' he added.
