Priyanka wonders why nobody talks about male-centric films

Actor Priyanka Chopra, who will be seen playing a tough policewoman in Prakash Jha's upcoming project Gangaajal 2, says films with female protagonists should not be typecast as ‘women-centric’.

The 32-year-old actor was in the city, along with Jha, to shoot the film, whose prequel Gangaajal starred actor Ajay Devgn essaying role of <g data-gr-id="19">a IPS</g> officer.

“Why do you stereotype yourself in a particular role.Nobody talks about <g data-gr-id="20">film</g> with a male lead in it. No one terms them ‘men-oriented’ films,” she said, when asked about female-centric movies doing well at the box-office lately. 

The Fashion star, who has an Army background as her late father had served defence forces as a doctor, said that she finds <g data-gr-id="23">difference</g> in playing <g data-gr-id="24">role</g> of a police officer and an Army personnel. 

“There is a lot of difference between the two. My father used to say <g data-gr-id="25">vardi</g> ki <g data-gr-id="26">chaal</g> hi <g data-gr-id="27">alag</g> <g data-gr-id="28">hoti</g> <g data-gr-id="29">hai</g> (walk in <g data-gr-id="22">an uniform</g> altogether has a different attitude),” she said.

Chopra, who will be seen as <g data-gr-id="18">a FBI</g> agent in upcoming American thriller television series Quantico, praised the city for its hospitality.
