‘Prince’ Rahul skips PM’s farewell dinner!


On Rahul missing the farewell dinner, RPN Singh, minister of state for home affairs, said, ‘This issue should not be politicised. We should talk about PM’s great work.’

Sonia Gandhi said that she is not worried about exit poll results and is in touch with regional parties. Singh’s wife Gursharan Kaur was also present at the occasion, wherein Singh was felicitated by Sonia. 

A memento, signed by all members of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) and union ministers, was presented to the outgoing PM.The dinner was held two days before the Lok Sabha election result which is slated to be declared on 16 May. 

The PM will submit his resignation to President Pranab Mukherjee on 17 May. The economist-turned-politician had announced his retirement on 3 January when he addressed his final press conference. On Tuesday, Singh bade farewell to his staff.
