Primary school teacher assaulted by unidentified miscreants

A primary school teacher was beaten up by some unidentified miscreants when he was taking a morning stroll at the forest area of Palashtala in Bankura on Monday morning.

The victim, Sujit Ghosh, a teacher of Helna Sushunia School, went out for a morning stroll to the forest area.  As he loves photography, he took a camera along with him. When he was taking a 
photograph inside a small forest situated close to Palashtala area some unidentified miscreants suddenly pounced on him and beat him up.

They snatched his camera and broke it. The victim somehow managed to free himself from their clutches and came out of the forest. He was admitted to Bankura Sammilani Medical College and Hospital.

The doctors said that the victim had received several injuries on various parts of the body. The victim had told the doctors that the miscreants had hit him on his head. He also told the doctors that the miscreants attacked him from behind.

According to the preliminary investigation, police suspect that the miscreants were involved in some 
anti-social activities in the area and they suspected that the victim might have been trying to capture their photographs on his camera.

Police have started a probe and are conducting raids to nab the culprits. They were interrogating the local villagers in this connection. Police are yet to ascertain the motive behind the attack. They were also investigating if it was a result of any old rivalry.
