‘Power 100’ picks

The Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon witnessed a star studded second edition of PowerBrands on Monday, 25 June. PowerBrands, a Planman Marcom initiative, is a cohesive collection of the 100 most powerful names in various fields including Bollywood, theater, PSU and fashion.

While the first edition worked with the philosophy of 'Evolution to Revolution'; part two of tthe initiative chose the 'Innovate to Inspire' thought. Talking about this, Arindam Chaudhuri said, 'Power Brands is IIPM and Planman Group’s salutation to the builders of the biggest brands in India and I am glad that launch was terrific.'

Deepak Kaistha, CEO, Planman Media, said, 'Power Brands is a unique endeavour by the Planman Group to present the leading brands of India’s success saga in a classic format. This unique coffee-table endeavour has chronicled the success of India’s most dominant corporate brands. The real strength of the coffee-table book lies in its rock-solid concept. Every page is a part of a larger idea. The information and visual appeal of the book keeps the reader’s enthralled all throughout.'

The PowerBrands Hall of Fame ceremony also took place along with the book launch. It was a salute to icons and leaders who have carved a niche for themselves with their remarkable strategies and vision.

The awardees included corporates like Y C Deveshwar (Chairman, ITC), MB Parekh (MD, Pidilite), C S Verma (Chairman, SAIL), and Venugopal Dhoot (Chairman, Videocon Group).

PowerBrands also saluted individual excellence through the hall of fame ceremony. These awards were given to people like Madhuri Dixit Nene, Sushmita Sen, Parineeti Chopra, Prateik Babbar, Vikas Khanna and Tom Alter. Himangini Singh Yadu - Miss Asia Pacific World 2012 was also awarded with the PowerBrands Hall of Fame - Inspirational Youth Icon award.
