Policeman stabbed by miscreants in Malda

Miscreants stabbed a policeman when he was sleeping on a cot at the courtyard of his house due to the excessive heat. He has been undergoing treatment at Malda Medical College and Hospital with serious injuries on his body.

Police said that the victim, Krishna Roy, a home guard with the Jharkhand police came to his house at Banikanto Tola area of Ratua few days ago on leave. When he was sleeping outside the house, a gang of 4-5 miscreants came to the spot and started beating up the victim.

When he tried to resist, the miscreants stabbed him several times in which he suffered serious injuries on various parts of his body. After hearing the screams of the victim, his family members rushed to his rescue. The assailants, however, managed to flee the spot immediately after the incident.

His family members rushed him to Malda Medical College and Hospital. The reason behind the 

attack is not known to the victim’s family members as the victim did not have enmity with anyone.

On the basis of the complaint, the police have started an investigation. 

They are yet to ascertain the actual reason behind the attack. They are conducting raids to nab the culprits.
