Police suspect honour killing in <g data-gr-id="16">case</g> of a 19-year-old girl, who was found shot dead at her residence in South Delhi’s Bindapur area near Jasola village on Saturday. “As per the post-mortem report, the victim, Hemlata, has been shot twice in the head, causing her death on the spot,” police said.

An FIR has been registered, police said. The victim’s family told the police that she had gone to check a visitor at the door on the ground floor around 5.30 am. When she did not return for some time, her mother went to look for her but found her lying in a pool of blood.
Hemlata was rushed to a private hospital and then to a government hospital, where she was declared dead.

The police claim to have observed many strange things about the incident, which make it mysterious.
“Her (victim) family did not inform us. They had told the hospital staff that she fell from the stairs. But
her injuries did not match the claims and doctors on duty called us,” a police official said.
