Police seize fake auto spare parts

The District Investigation Unit of North Delhi have arrested two persons for supplying fake auto spare parts of Maruti Suzuki from Kashmere Gate area. Cops have seized 3,476 fake products from the duo.

On Monday, police officials of Kashmere Gate Police Station along with the Enforcers Of Intellectual Property Rights (EIPR) conducted raids on a manufacturing unit and supplier of packaging material at Chabiganj.

“During the raid, the cops seized 3,476 fake products including avoid spurious spares, bumper buttons, suspensions, bulb holders, price stickers, outer boxes in various sizes and many other items that were being stored and sold under the brand name of Maruti-Suzuki,” an official said. The arrested persons have been identified as Jai Bhagwan Ram Gopal (50) and Vikas Saini (39). A case under Section 63 of Copyright Act has been registered against the duo at Kashmere Gate police station. Delhi Police are quizzing these two accused to learn about the persons who are indulged in supplying and selling of fake auto spare parts.

Speaking to Millennium Post, a police official privy to investigation said: “The duo were running an auto spare parts shop in Kashmere Gate. In the recent past, a complaint has been filed by an authorized dealer of these auto spare parts. According a raid was conducted on Monday morning and the accused were arrested. They were into supplying and selling these fake products in the market at the same rate of the original products, to earn more profit.” He further added that along with Delhi Police, the District Investigation Unit is also probing the matter.
