Police official shot at by neighbour

A 50-year-old Delhi Police official was shot at by his neighbour, a property dealer, over an argument near his house in Outer Delhi’s Narela area on Friday afternoon. The injured police man has been identified as Shaukeen Pal Tomar. Police are trying to nab the absconding accused.

According to the police, the incident took place at around 2 pm when the children of the police official had a scuffle with the children of a property dealer, identified as Virender

(48). The fight among the children boiled down to their respective fathers with the heated argument turning violent when Virender opened fire at Tomar before fleeing from the spot.
Virender used a licensed revolver to shoot Tomar. When their neighbours saw this, they immediately made a PCR call to the police.

“The bullet hit Tomar’s chest. He was rushed to the Max Hospital in Shalimar Bagh where he is undergoing treatment. His condition is currently critical,” said Vikramjit Singh, Deputy
Commissioner of Police (Outer). The official said that Tomar is posted with the Security unit of the Delhi Police.

A case has been registered at the Narela police station under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC and relevant sections of the Arms Act against Virender. Police have started the investigation and are trying to nab the accused person.
