Police nab man for raping minor and murdering her brother

Delhi Police have arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with the rape and attempt to murder of a 17-year-old girl and murder of her eight-year-old cousin brother in North-west Delhi’s Swaroop Nagar area on Friday. The accused person has been identified as Raju.

According to the police, on November 14, they got a call that a boy was lying in a pool of blood while a girl was lying bleeding at their rented accommodation in Swaroop Nagar. Meanwhile, the elders of the family had gone out to meet some relatives when the incident took place. The girl was home with her two minor brothers. According to the police, the accused, Raju, stayed in a rented room adjacent to the victim’s room.

On the night of the incident, the girl’s seven-year-old brother was sleeping and when he saw his sister crying, he informed their landlady. The landlady then made a PCR call. When police reached the spot, they found the girl lying bleeding while the eight-year-old boy was lying dead. Police then took them to nearby hospital where they boy was declared dead on arrival. Police said that teams were formed to nab Raju who was found to be working in a cement godown near Kanpur railway station.
