PM to spearhead BJP’s poll push

The rally is being also seen a show of strength by Delhi BJP where party cadres have been deployed to bring over one lakh people from every polling booth of the city.

“We have installed LEDs for live telecast of the speech in the vicinity of the ground for people, besides a dozen CCTVs are also being installed in the ground for better viewing of the gathering,” said Prabhat Jha, Delhi BJP incharge. The party has installed hi-tech sound system and grand stage for the leaders.

“The ground has a capacity of around 60,000 people but we are expecting over one lakh people to attend the rally. To manage the crowd, LEDs are being installed outside the park and also at major intersections,” said Ashish Sood, general secretary of Delhi BJP.  The party is also installing 60-70 CCTV cameras which would be used by Delhi Police for monitoring the rally for security purposes.

However, Delhiites are expecting some big announcements by the Prime Minister in the rally but senior BJP leaders have denied any such possibility. “This is a felicitation ceremony of our Prime Minister who is leading the victory chariot of the saffron party since the Lok Sabha elections. He has fulfilled all the major promises made in Lok Sabha polls by removing legal and administrative hurdles and we want to thank him for what he has done. We will also felicitate our three Chief Ministers and senior Union Ministers,” said Prabhat Jha.

South Delhi MP and Delhi BJP general secretary Ramesh Bidhuri who is in-charge of the preparations of the rally also said:  “The Prime Minister has fulfilled all the demands made by the seven MPs in the city. Actions have been taken on all the issues ranging from unauthorised colonies to power substations to e-rickshaws to power subsidies to address water  problems and the like. This is a felicitation of the Prime Minister and his team for delivering his promises in such a short span of time.”
