PM, Prez hail Sania on Doubles win

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday <g data-gr-id="10">congragulated</g> Sania Mirza and her Swiss partner Martina Hingis on winning the US Open women’s doubles title.

“Congratulations @MirzaSania & @mhingis on the phenomenal victory at the @usopen. Your accomplishments make us proud,” the Prime Minister tweeted. Sania, in her response to the <g data-gr-id="12">tweet</g> said, “Thank <g data-gr-id="11">you Sir</g> for your wishes.” 

While, President Mukherjee tweeted, “Hearty congratulations @MirzaSania @mhingis on winning the U.S. Open women’s doubles, well done!” 

Sania won the US Open women’s doubles with her Swiss partner Hingis on Sunday as the top-seeded Indo-Swiss team outplayed the fourth seed team of Casey Dellacqua and Yaroslava Shvedova 6-3 6-3 in the final.
