Plaint against Vijayvargiya for ‘insulting’ Mamata

A complaint was lodged against Bharatiya Janata Party’s national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya at a police station in Hooghly district, for reportedly showing disrespect to Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee.

The complaint was lodged at Chanditala police station Monday evening by TMC’s Chanditala
block president Subir Mukherjee.

In his complaint, Mukherjee alleged that Vijayvargiya – during his visit to the state earlier this month – had used certain words which, according to the complainant, “were humiliating”.

“This is an insult to our beloved leader. He cannot do this,” Mukherjee said.

When contacted, Hooghly SP Sukesh Kumar Jain said, “We are verifying the content of the complaint and will take appropriate action.”
