Pistol recovered from Namdhari tampered, son’s hand suspected

The family of Sukhdev Singh Namdhari is likely to be questioned by the crime branch. According to police sources, Namdhari’s son, Surinder Singh, resident of Bazpur, along with Namdhari’s wife and maternal uncle, Hardayal Singh Bakshi, are being considered by the police.
It was alleged by a source that Namdhari’s son has tampered the pistol recovered by the police from the farmhouse. ‘The pin of the pistol was intentionally taken out to misguide the cops who are investigating the matter,’ the source added. Namdhari’s son was very close to his father. On his birthday in 2010, Namdhari presented him a four seater aircraft Cessna. ‘Surinder might be called to Delhi to join the interrogation,’ the source added.
On Sunday, a team from crime branch visited 42 Central Drive in DLF farmhouse, Chhatarpur, to recreate the crime scene. Sukhdev Singh Namdhari and others who have been arrested in Ponty Chadha-Hardeep Singh double murder case are being asked to give the exact sequence of events on that fateful day.
A special investigation team (SIT) has been formed by the crime branch. The SIT has figured out that answers to few questions are pinpointing towards destruction of evidences.
A source said, ‘How did the pistol used in the shootout reach the farmhouse of Namdhari? Also, why the pistol recovered by the crime branch has been tampered with? Every thing depends on the ballistic reports.’
Namdhari is a key witness as well as the prime suspect of the double murder case. ‘There is a possibility that to save himself, Namdhari lodged a complaint. To mould the whole situation he might have mentioned the wrong timeline,’ the source added.
Earlier, it was planned by the cops to take Namdhari to the farmhouse on Sunday to recreate the crime scene. But another crime branch team wanted to interrogate the arrested persons who were involved in the case. However, at about 5 pm, a team of crime branch, south Delhi police and forensic team visited the farmhouse and remained there for about one hour. They took few photographs of the crime scene.
‘Namdhari might be taken to the farmhouse on Tuesday along with Ponty Chadha’s driver, another eyewitness,’ the source added.
