Piano teacher held for raping 7-yr-old in Kalkaji area

A 42-year-old piano teacher has been arrested in southeast Delhi’s Kalkaji area for sexually assaulting his seven-year-old student over a period of two months, police said on Sunday.

According to the police, accused Ravi Kumar, a resident of Ram Puri in Kalkaji area, used to give 
piano tuitions to the girl at her residence. Every time, he gave her piano lessons, the victim's mother was in the house. But Kumar allegedly preferred to teach the child in a separate room that he often locked from inside.

For the past two months, whenever the classes got over, the girl told her mother that she did not want to take piano classes and that she did not like the teacher. But her mother was unable to sense what her daughter is going through.

On Saturday afternoon, when the child;’s father, a businessman, returned from work the girl started crying and told him that she did not want to take piano tuitions. When he  had a detailed conversation with the girl, she narrated the ordeal, leaving her father red-faced.

The parents, along with the girl, reached the Kalkaji police station and filed a complaint under sections of sexual assault. Based on the child’s statement and her medical examination report, which confirms rape, a case was registered against Kumar and he was detained in the mid-night. He was arrested on Sunday morning.

Kumar is married, who also a son. Meanwhile, the police are also probing if the accused had raped or assaulted other children whom he gave tuitions.
