Petting issues

For avid dog lovers (including me), the phrase- dog is man's best friend is not in vain. Centered around the same sentiment, an initiative called A Cause 4 the Paws is being organised in the Capital in an effort to to find homes for those pets that have been abandoned by their families and other Indian strays. The event is being held in collaboration with the Delhi Police Dog Squad and PFA (People For Animals).

The event which is in its second year now is in partnership with Select City Walk. Major purpose of PFA through Cause 4 the paws is to encourage adoption and find homes for the homeless and one of the effecient way is to have an adoption promotion column in all dailies across the country,’ said
Maneka Gandhi, Chaiperson, PFA. It should be also noted that buying dogs from breeders is a crime and many dogs lose their homes due to this trade,’ she added.

The event will majorly focus upon and encourage families to experience an opportunity to experience unconditional love that only a pet can offer. Other activities that are a part of the event include-
Delhi Police Dog Show will showcase extraordinary talents and immaculate training of the canine sentinels, who safeguard us from the enemy in many ways.

The squad will consist of about 50 dogs that will come and display some spectacular drills. Adoption drive films on dogs and thematic paintings are other attractions. So, come be a part of some nobel deed and experience some love of the four-legged kind!
