Petroleum Conservation Research Association holds seminar on ‘Standards & Labeling’

Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) organised a seminar on 'Standards & Labeling' programme with a view to achieve the key deliverables of efficient petroleum product consumption in the country. The seminar focusssed on the pertinence of implementing Standards & Labeling program, which would act as a powerful catalyst for higher energy efficiencies, minimization of wasteful practices and harbinger of environmental protection. The seminar was attended by manufactures of equipments apart from other stake holders.

Abhay Bakre, executive director PCRA, welcomed Sudhir Bhargava, Special Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas who was the chief guest for the programme,  and set the tone for the theme of Energy Conservation through Standards and Labeling, emphasising the significance of S&L programme on the country’s economy.

Speaking on the occasion, Sudhir Bhargava called upon manufacturers, industry, consumer forums & other stake holders to support the venture of PCRA to conserve the precious etroleum resources by leveraging S&L program vis-a vis the existing technology for various equipments viz: LPG stoves, diesel engine driven pump sets and generators.

Standards & Labelling program aims at awarding star rating to petroleum product consuming equipments, based on enhanced standards of efficient fuel consumption.

Participants from PCRA, BEE, NPC and UNDP made presentations on the subject, followed by open question & answer session, which was well received & appreciated by the audience.
