PB CONG TO REACH FARMERS WITH ‘KISAN JHOLAS’

After Uttar Pardesh’s Kisan Yatra, Congress party will start its mega farmer outreach campaign in Punjab from Gurdaspur on Tuesday. Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh will launch party’s door-to-door drive by personally visiting the homes of several farmers in Gurdaspur.

Carrying ‘kisan jholas’, Captain Amarinder will go to farmers’ houses in Kot Surat Malhi in Gurdaspur. The `kisan jhola’ will contain maangpatras, along with mobile stickers, badges, door stickers and Marg Darshika. The maangpatra will capture the household details and their outstanding debt.

In UP, during his Kisan Yatra Congress Vice President also got Kisan Mangpatras filled by the farmers. Around 75 lakh Kisan Mangapatras were collected during Amethi MP’s Kisan Yatra in UP.

Armed with these Kisan Mangapatras from two states, Congress will demand loan waiver for farmers from the government. Meanwhile, with an aim to reach out to around two crore people through the drive, which starts on Tuesday and will end on October 25, Captain Amarinder will visit several mandis, including the Dana Mandis and will join the local farmers for lunch.

The outreach campaign, flagged as Karza-Kurki Khatam, Fasal Di Poori Rakam, in Punjab is aimed at connecting with the farmers in the state at the grassroots, with an assurance of their debt waiver and resolution of other problems faced by the them on priority basis once the Congress comes to power.

Apart from the door-to-door visits, Captain Amarinder will visit several mandis, including the Dana Mandis at Batala Road (Fatehgarh Churian), Kalanaur, Batala and Dera Baba Nanak, as well as Ghaniyae Ke Bet mandi across the Ravi bridge, where he will join the local farmers for lunch.
