Passionate about making a film: Konkona
All set to don the director’s hat for a self-scripted movie, actor Konkona Sen Sharma says after two years of hard work on the script, she is convinced that she is passionate about making a film.

Claiming that she never wanted to be an actor, Konkona said, “Today, I’m passionate about wanting to make a film. And I know this because I’m working on this film for two years now. I was never a <g data-gr-id="40">writer</g> but I’ve written a script. For <g data-gr-id="39">me</g> this is a major achievement but for others it might be a minor one. But I never thought I’ll stick to one thing for so long.”

Actor Konkona Sen Sharma’s journey in the industry has been straightforward, largely displaying her tremendous acting skills in non-masala cinema nut she terms it “convoluted”. Attending a special initiative Career <g data-gr-id="34">Konnect</g>: Power to Women aimed at encouraging working mothers, Konkona said, “My journey has been a convoluted one till now. I didn’t know what I wanted to do when I was in college.”

“And acting was something I happened to stray into and subsequently made it my world though it was already my world because of my parents (mother and leading actor Aparna Sen).”

The event was conducted to spread a message among women to continue working after marriage and children and to also urge them to pursue their passions in the choice of their profession. Konkona was recently in the news for her Bengali film <g data-gr-id="41">Shajarur</g> Kanta which was based on a Byomkesh Bakshi novel. Her last Hindi film Ek Thi <g data-gr-id="42">Daayan</g> had come out two years ago and she will be next seen as a police officer in Sonakshi Sinha’s Akira.

Konkona’s script, titled Death In a <g data-gr-id="27">Gunj</g>, has been selected by the National Film Development Corporation (NDFC) to develop into a complete film screenplay.

This programme has reportedly started and will be finished soon. According to reports, it is a women-centric film.
