Passion leads to producer’s death

On Wednesday, a body that was chopped into 12 pieces was found in Shyam Vihar area of south-west district. The body was identified as that of Sanjay Rohila’s, a producer of Haryanvi films. The police suspect it to be a crime of passion.

Rohila’s body was found in a locked house that belonged to a native of Haryana. The house was rented out a few days ago to a person who wanted to run a music and dance classes from there.

The police had arrested the tenant on Thursday, but according to police sources, the tenant had not committed the murder. The police had apparently ascertained this after interrogating the tenant.

Sources further said that the victim was possibly murdered because of an extramarital affair. A team has been sent to Mumbai to find the key links to this murder mystery.

The neighbours had made a PCR call on Wednesday, alerted by the foul smell emanating from the locked house. When the police broke in, they found the chopped body with several body parts scattered all over the room. The body was sent for post mortem.

The victim was later identified as Sanjay Rohila, a resident of Najafgarh. He was 43 years old and produced Haryanvi films. He left his home on 6 June and never returned.

A missing complaint had been lodged by his wife Sunita, but the cops were unable to find him. They could only trace his car, which was found parked near Tajpur. His mobile phone was switched off.
