Paper leak: Burdwan varsity stops B.Ed first sem exams

The authority of the University of Burdwan stopped the first semester examination of B.Ed fourth paper on Wednesday.

The university authority suspected that the question paper was leaked via WhatsApp.

A university source said that the news of leakage came to the authority, while an executive council meeting was taking place at the university.

The university authority called up the police immediately.

The inspector-in-charge of Kalna police station, examined the questions which was already been circulated among some section of the students via WhatsApp.

Later, the officer suggested the university authority that it was better to stop the examination for the day.

The authority soon decided to take the examination later and the students were informed accordingly.

However, the police have examined the questions which were circulated via WhatsApp.

“It was exactly the same. We are also amazed by the fact that there was no change in the pattern of the
question which was printed for Wednesday’s examination. We suspect that there is some insider who could leak the questions,” an investigating officer said.

However, the university authority has decided to inquire about this incident separately.

Some of the professors, who were directly involved in setting up the question were shocked. They told the police that they do not have any idea about how the leak could have taken place.

Meanwhile, the University of Calcutta issued notification which said, the first phase of the elections will take place on January 27.

The second phase of the election will take place on January 28 and third phase of the elections will take place on January 30. The fourth phase of the elections is scheduled to happen on January 31.
