Pak will join MTCR at ‘appropriate’ time: Islamabad

Days after India joined the Missile Technology Control Regime, Pakistan authorities on Thursday said that Islamabad would choose to become a part of the regime at an “appropriate” time.

 Pakistan, despite harbouring a keen interest in regimes that control exports, did never express a wish to join the Missile Technology Control Regime, which is dominated by the West and controls exports in missile and UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) technology.

Pakistan has “fairly” succeeded in developing a missile programme and various short- and medium-range missiles.
