Pak cyclists pay hefty fine for delayed police approval

Pakistani cycling contingent has finally received the mandatory police clearance after paying a hefty fine to the authorities three days after arriving for the Asian Cycling Championships. Having arrived on police reporting visas, the 17-member Pakistani group was required to get clearance from Pak Section at the Police Bhawan within 24 hours of reaching here, failing which they were suppose to pay a fine of USD 30. “We sent our general secretary and our media advisor to Daryaganj (at Police Bhawan) today. We paid a fine of about Rs 24000 to the authorities and got our visa papers stamped,’ said Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) president Munawar B Ahmad.
