Paharganj murder accused arrested

Delhi Police have detained the domestic help, who was accused of murdering a 68-year-old woman in Central Delhi’s Paharganj area on Wednesday night. The incident took place around 4 pm when the accused who is a juvenile, attacked Shanti Chopra with a wooden device and then robbed her of her mobile phone as well as cash around Rs 3.70 lakhs.

The accused, Sandeep (name changed) was a domestic help who had started working in the victim’s house a week ago. 

A relative of the deceased, Shivam made the PCR call around 7.52 pm when he discovered his maternal grandmother lying in a pool of blood. The body was then taken to the Lady Harding Hospital where she was declared brought dead.

According to senior police officials, the deceased left behind two sons who are physically disabled. During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that the domestic help had been missing after the incident.
