Padma Shri for Kader Khan?

The demand to award veteran actor, Kader Khan with Padma Shri has taken a toll in the Indian film industry. Scripting a comeback after a decade-long break, Kader Khan will soon be seen on the silver screen in director Fauzia <g data-gr-id="14">Arshi’s</g> Hogaya Dimaagh Ka Dahi. Recently, <g data-gr-id="15">Arshi</g> wrote to the Home Ministry demanding Padma Shri for the veteran actor. Giving a positive reply, the Ministry has asked <g data-gr-id="16">Arshi</g> to submit a formal recommendation.  Many actors like Om Puri, Romy Jafari, David Dhawan, Shakti Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor have come up in support of the initiative.

Recommending Kadar Khan for the award Om Puri said, “Kader Khan has given many years to the film industry both as a director and as a writer.  He deserves the award.” Hogaya Dimaagh Ka Dahi is set to release on Oct 16.
