Padma: Advani, Big B, Bill Gates among awardees

Senior BJP leader LK Advani, Microsoft founder Bill Gates and actor Amitabh Bachchan are among the recipients of the prestigious Padma Awards. Advani and Bachchan, along with Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and veteran actor Dilip Kumar will receive the Padma Vibhushan.
Microsoft founder and one of the world’s foremost philanthropists Bill Gates, along with his wife Melinda will receive the Padma Bhushan, for their social work. Manjul Bhargava, the Indian-origin academician who has won the Fields Trophy — known as the ‘Nobel Prize of Mathematics’ — will receive the Padma Bhushan for his contribution in the fields of science and engineering.
