Over 800 Rohini jail inmates undergo health check-up

Over 800 inmates of the Rohini district prison underwent a health check-up on Sunday.

The drive was organised to check the health of the inmates. Besides, medical consultation was provided to them.

According to organisers of the health drive, Saroj Super Specialty Hospital, major tests were conducted and reports were compiled to conclude hypertension and blood pressure fluctuations. The hospital said that most of the inmates required dermatologist and orthopaedics attention.

“These people are not leading a normal life and are away from their family and some have been here for years. Everyone is not strong enough to stand loneliness and tough routine as that of a jail. These things affect one’s metabolism and so such health irregularities are expected to happen,” said Dhiraj Malik, a doctor with the hospital.
