‘Outsider’ Amar Singh appointed SP Gen Secretary by Mulayam
In a brief handwritten letter in Hindi, the SP supremo said, “You have been appointed general secretary of Samajwadi Party. I hope in the coming days you will strengthen the party in Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.” The letter was signed by Mulayam on his Lok Sabha letter head and was sent to media from state SP chief Shivpal Yadav’s official e-mail id.
Though a host of party leader opposed Amar Singh, Netaji backed him first by making him a Rajya Sabha member couple of months back after spending six years political deportation and now allotted him in an important party post. In recent times Singh was been hold responsible for the family feud by the CM Akhilesh Yadav and said “outsider” have been interfering in party affairs.
Adding further, Singh was believed to be the centre of the rift within the Yadav clan as CM Akhilesh Yadav sacked state chief secretary Deepak Singhal, who is believed to be close to Shivpal Yadav. The decision was immediately followed by Shivpal replaced Akhilesh as the state party chief. Akhilesh retaliated by stripping Shivpal of three key ministerial berths.
Even, Samajwadi Party national general secretary Prof Ram Gopal Yadav , who was instrumental in drenching the fire within the party and the family as well and said the leadership had committed an unintentional “mistake” by removing Akhilesh as party’s UP president.
However, ahead of the crucial Assembly poll Netaji negotiated a peace deal between his brother and son. Shivpal was reinstated by Akhilesh and the two have been tasked.
