Organisers of Oct 8 ISL tie to engage private security

Organisers of an Indian Super League tie scheduled between FC Goa and FC Pune City at Fatorda on October 8 have decided to engage private security for the fixture, a day after police refused to provide security citing the upcoming BRICS summit.

“ISL organisers have informed us that they will be engaging private security inside the (Jawaharlal Nehru) stadium for frisking and other security arrangements,” South District Collector Swapnil Naik said.

At the match to be played in Fatorda near Margao town, home team FC Goa will take on FC Pune city. Meanwhile, Naik said organisers have proposed that police be asked to provide security outside the ground including traffic arrangements. “I have referred the proposal for outside security to district police chief who will take a call on it,” he said.
