OnePlus smartphones to debut on Flipkart from today

“Starting June 22, the OnePlus One 64 GB (Sandstone Black) will be available on Flipkart at Rs 21,999,” Vikas Agarwal, General Manager - India, OnePlus said.

The 16 GB Silk White variant is expected to be made available at Rs 18,999 in a few weeks, Agarwal added.

OnePlus started selling its phones exclusively on Amazon in December last year in India.

“At OnePlus, it has been our constant endeavour to evaluate and evolve our <g data-gr-id="39">go-to market</g> strategy and this collaboration is another step in that direction. “We are happy to have Flipkart as our new channel partner, in a bid to expand our reach and make OnePlus One more accessible to people across the country,” he said.

Amitesh Jha, VP Retail, Flipkart, said, “OnePlus is one of the leading players in the new age mobile tech world and we are excited to have the OnePlus One on our platform.

“Known for offering best-in-class technology and innovative products, we are confident that this product will resonate well with our <g data-gr-id="40">tech savvy</g> customers.”

Meanwhile, online matrimonial portal Shaadi.com has set its sights on building a global <g data-gr-id="43">presence,</g> and is ‘actively scouting’ for acquisitions in the casual dating and <g data-gr-id="42">match-making</g> segment.

The company is keen to make inroads into the overseas market through acquisitions and could complete one soon, a company executive said.

“We are looking at inorganic growth and are actively scouting for acquisitions in the international market,” Gourav Rakshit, the chief operating officer of Shaadi.com, said.

“We are in the process of evaluating various options of inorganic growth, and could complete an acquisition soon,” he added.

Through its acquisitions, Shaadi.com is looking at diversifying into allied and unorthodox match-making businesses, Rakshit pointed out. The Mumbai-based portal, owned by People Group, is exploring opportunities in markets including South-East Asia as well as the US, where it will look at match-making and casual dating space, he said.

Earlier this year, People Group acquired about 25 <g data-gr-id="36">per cent</g> stake in the Delhi-based dating application Thrill for about $1 million (about Rs 6.3 crore).

As a part of the transaction, the group’s dating platform <g data-gr-id="38">Fropper</g> was brought under Thrill.

“In the traditional matrimonial segment, we were surprised to see several parents accessing our services through the mobile of late,” <g data-gr-id="44">Rakshi</g> said. “As part of ongoing efforts, we are working at improving our mobile experience,” he added.
